"I wouldn't even be who I am."

I want to share a quote from an article I was reading today that really stood out to me.

"A couple years ago, my grandson Christian was turning eight and planning his baptismal service with great anticipation. He asked his mother if I could be one of the speakers and share my conversion story. When I asked him why he wanted me to do that, he replied, "Grandma, that is so important. Do you realize that if you hadn't accepted the gospel, I wouldn't be getting baptized? I wouldn't even be who I am." (Silvia H. Allred, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, "Go Ye Therefore," Ensign Nov. 2008, p.10-12).

From pioneers crossing the plains, to others headed west for the gold rush, to my mother and my husband (I love you both!!) in these latter-days, I am grateful for the people who made the choice to embrace the gospel. With Austin turning eight this year and going to be baptized, and my girls growing up just as fast, I get to watch another generation being blessed by the choices of these wonderful people. Without them I wouldn't be who I am!

I totally agree with you Kelsey. I feel like it was just yesterday we were holding our new little babies and were totally clueless on this hole parenting thing, I guess we still are a little clueless. I get in crying fits of joy when I think of the excitement of Parkers Baptism. Good luck with yours.
