I have been suffering major winter blahs, cabin fever, spring fever, whatever you want to call it. I am feeling especially tortured by stores who have put out cute spring/summer clothes, frisbees, bubbles, swimming suits, and other such stuff. So yesterday I did something that I have been wanting to do for a few weeks and I finally had an afternoon to do it!! Hah.
I have been looking out my back window at several containers/pots that look like this:

Yuck. So it was time to take some action. I cleaned them up and planted some bulbs. Ah, it felt good to have dirt between my fingers again. I planted Daffodils in these 3 containers and some medium size pots. Don't they look so nice and clean?

Dutch Iris in a large pot

Tulips in some smaller pots. I brought one inside so we can see it bloom sooner.

I love how many of the bulbs were starting to grow. Little bits of spring. Didn't I have a fine afternoon? Yes I did.

I have been feeling the same way, and sorry to say, the ground hog saw his shadow so at least 6 more weeks of winter. And you know, since you were just here, that we still have lots of snow on the ground. Yes, it's going to be a while before I can get outside and dig. BUT--as soon as they have some of those pretty spring flowers in stores in pots already starting to come up and bloom, I will have some in my house. Oh, and in our shopping forays, I have found a couple of spring tops--that always helps too.
