A conversation from yesterday, as well as I can remember it, illustrating a key difference between men and women:
Me: (after noticing Kurt and I are running low on clean socks) Where are all our socks going? I just did laundry, but maybe it's time to get some more.
Kurt: (in all his innocent seriousness) Maybe we have a chipmunk running around the house taking our socks?
Me: (laughing) As opposed to just losing them ourselves?
Kurt: Well I don't know, how would we lose them?
I guess guys don't take all the missing sock references in tv, movies, commercials, etc., seriously. But we women KNOW socks vanish without a trace all the time. I have a pile of them in my laundry room in the unlikely chance the match will turn up.

So true! It drives me nuts when I can't find the matches!
I have a lanquerie (however you spell that) landry bag that I hang by the boys laundry basket and through socks in. Or I sort the socks into it when I sort the laundry and wash the socks in it. I've hardly lost a sock yet.
