What's happening-

Kurt has been gone the last couple weeks, so I've had my hands full and haven't taken very many pictures, but here are a few things we've been up to-

Watching the birds visiting our bird feeders - a favorite past-time for my kids.  Sophie is particularly obsessed with birds right now.

We've had a few snow storms. It's melted already, but we had fun while it lasted!

First taste of snow - Yum!

Trying to work out the 5pm crazies!

Racing4Research Watch Party

Yesterday I took Austin, Nyah and Olivia to the Racing4Research watch party for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.  We were cheering on the #4 car, which races and raises money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. The race was projected on the big screen, people brought laptops to chat with the team, we had some yummy food, there were some activities for the kids, and we spent a lot of time meeting and talking with other NF families. It was wonderful!

P.S. Should you, or anyone you know, eat at Legends Pub & Grill in Salt Lake City, mention the Utah Neurofibromatosis Chapter and a portion of your bill will be donated to the Children's Tumor Foundation.

Scenes from our Weekend

Olivia & Jolie playing wedding dresses with some of our scarves.

 Sophie "helping" Kurt do dishes.

Nyah excited to be going wedding dress shopping for Keshia's wedding. She wasn't so excited later when we were going to another store so Keshia could try on more dresses.

In addition to dishes, we always have toys that need to dry out.

Hanging out with Kurt this morning while he worked on his Sunday school lesson.

Jolie likes laying in front of the heating vent in the kitchen.  Just like Dade.

Natural History Museum of Utah

A few days ago I took the kids to the new Rio Tinto Center for the Natural History Museum of Utah. It is an amazing building and an amazing museum and I would love to say we all had a wonderful time.  But the reality is I felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off. This is one of those "field trips" where I frequently found myself asking, "What was I thinking?"

Austin and Nyah are at a stage where they like to wander and take their time and read exhibits and talk with the museum volunteers and explore all the hands on sections. And then there's Olivia and Jolie who want to run from one thing to the next as fast as they can. Sophie is at the stage where she does not want to be locked up in a stroller- yelling baby gibberish and "NO", crying, red face, trying to alligator roll while strapped down- all that *lovely* drama of an 18 month old.

Seriously, what was I thinking? Maybe if I could stand in the middle of a room with my 5 eyes watching everyone?
Fortunately, for them, my kids aren't worried about my sanity and they had a fabulous time.

There are some sections of floor that are glass with items on display a couple feet below-- and they totally freaked out Olivia, Jolie, and Sophie -- I confess it was amusing to watch.

Maybe I'll get Kurt to take me back sometime so I can have a fabulous time too :)

Happy Birthday Olivia!

5 years old!!

Olivia says (with a little coaching):

"Thank you Grandma & Papa for the Princess and the Frog toys. I love them!"

"Thank you Grandma Karla for the movie. I loved watching it!"

"Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!"

Aha.

I did it. Ha ha ha ha. Take that technology.

Hmmm.

Notice anything peculiar about this picture?

Yep, that's our Sophie climbing the walls. Oy.
(I am still trying to figure out what's up with the pictures not loading the correct direction.  I've changed it on my computer. I've tried to change it on the PicasaWeb file and upload that one. Errr.)

She likes to push buttons.

And this is how she feels about getting down.
I've moved the table, but she is not happy about it. Not. One. Bit.
