Going through my pictures from this month I found a few fun videos of my kids.  I figured I would share since my blog audience is primarily loving Grandparents who don't get to see these kiddos enough. 

Recent Happenings

We have intentionally been staying home more and focusing on school.  While I read to Austin and Nyah Olivia and Jolie have "blanket time" and play quietly with activities I have set aside.  I found a winner with threading beads - Jolie sat still FOREVER stringing the beads. 

 Austin & Nyah have been going to a hockey class - they LOVED it.  The rest of us have enjoyed watching :)

 Nyah and I are reading the Kirsten American Girl books - on this day she actually asked me to DO HER HAIR like Kirsten - the first time in years she's willing let me touch her hair!

 Austin (and Nyah of course) has been working on passing off some scout stuff - including the safe handling of a pocket knife - YIKES.

 Over the weekend I helped Austin and Nyah build a volcano - we had lots of fun adding different vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring combinations.

 Today the kids have been entertaining each other with arcade-style games built out of our various toy sets.  I even threw a few bean bags myself :)



Hello Again!!

My magic disappearing and reappearing act - TA DA!!

I miss blogging, but its ending up way down on my list of priorities.  The last few weeks I've had sick kids, a teething baby, and I've been trying to read books again, so blogging hasn't been happening.  Falling asleep by 9:30 every evening out of pure exhaustion doesn't help either (not-so-coincidentally around the time all my kids get to bed).  But here I am, with a bit of my afternoon free, so I thought I would share some pictures of the last few weeks. 

Austin playing chess with friends - there's talk about a club starting up, but for now they just get together once in a while. 

 Austin playing hockey - on this night Nyah was home sick.  They've been better for a while and have really enjoyed hockey.  Their last class is tomorrow. 

 Olivia & Jolie at their skating class - for the most part they have enjoyed it.  Last week they both had meltdowns, but the next day it was their turn to be sick so hopefully they were just starting to feel bad and will be excited for class tomorrow.

 Two days ago the weather was warming up, the sun was shining, the sky was clear . . . aaahhh, it was soooo nice.  We walked to the park to enjoy it!  Then yesterday it snowed.  Boo.  Winter isn't over yet. 

 (For some reason the pictures on my camera won't load the right direction, even though I change and save the files on my computer.  Don't know what's up with that.)

 Back to school this week - Austin and Nyah were working on a geography project when they saw me taking pictures and tried to stop me. 

 Sophie's stocking arrived! My mom had so many things going on last month that she wasn't able to finish this until after Christmas.  Isn't it fabulous? Thanks Mom!

 The big event of this week was the kids started lessons - Austin and Nyah are in a Learn to Play Hockey class, and Olivia and Jolie started ice skating lessons.  Olivia is in the pink shirt and Jolie is wearing the white hoodie with colored butterflies. 

I'll try to remember to get pictures of Austin and Nyah this week.
